Wagan 5000 Watt Smart AC Power Inverter Overview
It's portability at it's best. The Smart AC Inverter allows you to run your small electronics, like laptop computers, mobile appliances and other AC applications from just about anywhere.Wagan 5000 Watt Smart AC Power Inverter Specifications
Using the Wagan EL2012 5,000-watt continuous power inverter, you can power lights, laptops, washing machines, and more--even when you're off the grid. The EL2012 turns 12V DC power from a boat, RV, or truck battery into 115V AC power for household appliances. True-rated Power technology enables the inverter to run continuously for 24 hours under a full load. This product operates at up to 90 percent efficiency and comes equipped with four AC outlets and two cooling fans to prevent overheating.
Power Your Lights, TV, Laptop, and More
Made to be used with a boat, RV, or heavy-duty truck battery, the Wagan EL2012 5,000-watt continuous power inverter converts 12V direct current (DC) power into household 115V alternating current (AC). As a result, you can enjoy modern conveniences when you're experiencing a power outage or you're away from home and off the grid. The EL2012 can easily power appliances such as laptop computers, tools, televisions, small microwave ovens, lights, refrigerators, single-element electric stoves, washing machines, dryers, electric space heaters, small air conditioners, and more.
Energy-Efficient for Greater Running Time
The Wagan EL2012 5,000-watt continuous power inverter is designed to operate at up to 90 percent efficiency--resulting in longer running times and extended battery life.
High Surge Capability
The Wagan EL2012 5,000-watt continuous power inverter offers an exceptional peak surge capability of 10,000 watts to support high-surging appliances like hair dryers and water heaters. The peak surge wattage is the maximum wattage that the inverter can supply for a very short period of time. In general, induction motors--such as those found in air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, microwave ovens, and other devices--require an initial surge of power, or a peak load, to start up. Once started, the tool or appliance requires less power to continue to operate.
In addition, the Wagan EL2012 is outfitted with advanced, microprocessor-controlled circuits for cool and reliable operation.
Can Be Used Continuously for Up to 24 Hours
Like all Wagan power inverters, the EL2012 features True-rated Power technology, which enables it to operate continuously for up to 24 hours under a full 5,000-watt load. As a result, you can use the inverter to run your appliances for extended periods without worry.
Overload and Overheating Protection
The Wagan EL2012 comes equipped with two cooling fans to prevent overheating. If it does become overheated or overloaded, LED indicators on the side turn red, and the inverter shuts down. Other features of the EL2012 include four AC outlets, three high-output AC terminals, connections for distributed wiring, auto-reset short-circuit protection, and a low-battery alarm. The device measures 6.5 by 7.9 by 15.8 (H x W x D) and weighs 18.1 pounds.
The Wagan EL2012 5,000-watt continuous power inverter is backed by a two-year limited warranty.
